Basic Dog Obedience Program
Weekly Lessons and Home Practice
Structured Training Progression
BarkMore offers a Basic Obedience program for your dog. The program is 3 weeks in duration and the owners receive a lesson at the end of each week to ensure their understanding of the commands and behavior that is expected from their dog. Owners must commit to practicing with their dog at home, this is the KEY to success! We can lay the foundation, but reinforcement and practice at home is absolutely necessary. At the end of the week we will demonstrate the behaviors, have the owner practice the behaviors, and answer any questions the owner may have. Homework tips will be given to the owner so that they can practice at home and a written homework sheet will also be given at the end of each week.
Week One
Sit and stay with distractions, politely meeting new people, and focus on owner when dogs’ name is called.
Week Two
Down and stay, loose leash walking, waiting at doors, and further solidifying behaviors learned in Week One.
Week Three
Leave it command, heeling on owner’s left side, come when called, and reinforcement of Week One and Two behaviors.
